Kosovo Police Arrest Spanish Man Over Alleged Child Abduction from Mallorca

A coordinated international police operation involving several European law enforcement agencies and the Kosovo Police has led to the arrest of a Spanish national suspected of abducting his 6-year-old daughter.

According to Spanish media reports, the man is alleged to have taken the child from the island of Mallorca and fled Spain. During the escape, he is believed to have concealed the child in the trunk of a vehicle in an attempt to avoid detection.

Following his departure from Mallorca, authorities lost track of both the suspect and the child. The case quickly escalated into a cross-border investigation involving multiple European jurisdictions.

Investigators later discovered that the suspect had reportedly closed his bank accounts, deleted social media profiles, and altered his physical appearance in an apparent effort to evade identification and tracking.

Through coordinated intelligence sharing between European police services, authorities were able to determine that both the father and the child were located in Kosovo.

On June 24, Kosovo Police intervened, arresting the suspect and locating the 6-year-old girl. Authorities confirmed that the child was found in stable health condition at the time of recovery.

Following the operation, the child was placed under the care of relevant child protection institutions, while the suspect was taken into custody pending judicial proceedings and possible extradition to Spain.

The case highlights the increasing importance of cross-border cooperation in combating child abduction cases within Europe, where rapid information exchange often becomes decisive in recovery operations.
