48 Days of Protests in Albania: Thousands Flood Tirana Streets Calling for Edi Rama to Step Down

Thousands of protesters returned to Martyrs of the Nation Boulevard in front of the Prime Minister's Office after a long march through the streets of Tirana, concluding the 48th consecutive day of anti-government demonstrations.

Throughout the march, protesters repeatedly chanted slogans that have become the hallmark of the movement, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and sweeping political change in Albania.

Among the chants heard during the demonstration were "Rama to prison, Berisha to prison!", "Rama, resign!", and "Your time is over!", reflecting widespread frustration with Albania's political establishment.

At the end of the rally, demonstrators reaffirmed their determination to continue the protests, closing the gathering with the slogan: "Tomorrow, even more!"

The protest movement has now continued for 48 consecutive days, with participants insisting they will remain in the streets until their non-negotiable demands are met. Chief among those demands is the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, whom protesters accuse of leading a government that has lost public legitimacy.
