The Basic Prosecution in Peja has requested the imposition of pre-trial detention measures for two individuals arrested during election day, who are suspected of the criminal offense of “receiving or giving bribes related to voting.”
According to the official statement, the Serious Crimes Department has filed the request for detention against the two suspects, who are believed—based on initial investigative findings—to have committed the offense in the village of Gorazhdevc, in the municipality of Peja.
The prosecution stated that:
“Based on initial suspicions, the detainees committed the aforementioned criminal offense in the village of Gorazhdevc in the municipality of Peja, after which they were arrested by the Kosovo Police.”
The case is linked to the arrest of two individuals during the electoral process, with the Kosovo Police previously indicating that they were suspected of attempting to influence votes in favor of the Serb List.
Authorities have confirmed that the prosecution, in coordination with law enforcement institutions, will continue investigative actions in order to fully clarify the case and secure relevant evidence.
The investigation remains ongoing as officials assess the extent of the alleged vote-related offenses and any potential broader implications for the electoral process.
