Rezart Veleshnja Formally Charged by Durrës Prosecution Office for Fraud Allegations
Former “Portokalli” actor Rezart Veleshnja has been formally taken as a defendant by the Durrës Prosecution Office on charges of fraud.
According to the investigation, Veleshnja is suspected of receiving a vehicle in good faith from a friend identified by the initials Y.T., and later allegedly selling it for around 2 million old Albanian lekë.
The criminal case, registered under file number 2463, is currently being reviewed at the Durrës Court.

The next court hearing in the case has been scheduled for 30 June 2026 at the Durrës Court.
The case is being presided over by judge Rexhep Bekteshi, who is expected to evaluate evidence and procedural developments in the coming stages.
Authorities have not yet issued a final verdict, and the proceedings remain ongoing.
Police and Prosecution Previously Ordered Arrest in December 2024
Reports indicate that police and the Durrës Prosecution Office had ordered the arrest of Veleshnja in December 2024.
However, after appearing before the court, the measure imposed was changed to “obligation to appear,” meaning he is required to report periodically to authorities instead of being detained.
Investigators suspect that the actor may have carried out fraudulent actions involving the disputed vehicle.
Rezart Veleshnja Denies Fraud Allegations and Provides Public Explanation
Veleshnja has publicly rejected the accusations against him.
In his response, he claimed that the vehicle had been missing and that he had only used it, denying that it was sold through fraudulent means.
He also stated that the person who had possession of the vehicle has now been identified, which he argues supports his version of events.
Fraud Case Against Former Albanian Actor Continues in Durrës Court
The case remains under judicial review as both prosecution and defense continue presenting arguments and evidence.
No final decision has yet been made regarding the fraud allegations.
