FIFA Disciplinary Committee Fines Albanian Football Federation Over Off-Stadium Incidents

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has imposed a fine of 10,000 Swiss francs on the Albanian Football Federation (FSHF) following incidents that occurred outside the Air Albania Stadium during the World Cup 2026 qualifying match between Albania and Latvia on September 9, 2025.

FSHF has officially announced its intention to appeal this decision through the appropriate FIFA channels and has already initiated legal proceedings. The federation emphasized that it is committed to defending its reputation and ensuring that future matches remain safe and respectful for all participants and fans.

In a statement, FSHF called on supporters to demonstrate good conduct in upcoming matches and to back the national team without creating situations that could harm its image and interests. The federation also urged full cooperation from law enforcement authorities to guarantee that each match can be celebrated as a football festival, free from disruptions.

The disciplinary action comes amid heightened scrutiny over fan behavior in international fixtures, highlighting the importance of maintaining order both inside and outside stadiums. FSHF's proactive appeal demonstrates its commitment to accountability while advocating for fan responsibility.

As Albania continues its campaign for World Cup 2026 qualification, ensuring the safety of supporters and preserving the integrity of the sport remain top priorities. Football authorities, fans, and local institutions are encouraged to collaborate closely to make every match a positive experience for the community.
