The operation targeted a specific apartment in Lagjia No. 12, Durrës, which was reportedly rented and used for prostitution purposes. Over a period of three weeks, the investigative team, led by the Section for Trafficking Investigations under the guidance of the Durrës Prosecutor’s Office, collaborated closely with the Special Operational Force of the Durrës Police Department (DVP Durrës) to ensure the success of the mission.

As a result of the meticulous investigation, two foreign women were arrested in flagrante delicto for their involvement in prostitution and the adaptation of premises for prostitution. The arrested individuals were identified as N.T., a 34-year-old Venezuelan resident, and A.A., a 24-year-old Colombian resident. Both women are suspected of renting the apartment specifically for conducting prostitution activities.

In addition to the arrests, the police initiated proceedings against three other individuals—M.A., A.A., and D.T.—under charges related to prostitution, with the investigations conducted in a manner that ensures further legal follow-up by authorities.

The law enforcement authorities also seized substantial material evidence, which included:

  • A sum of money suspected to have been earned through prostitution activities,

  • Six mobile phones,

  • Various identification documents belonging to the arrested women.

The gathered evidence was submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Durrës, ensuring that all procedural measures and legal processes are followed appropriately.

According to police sources, the operation was carefully planned and executed using proactive investigative methods, which involved monitoring the location, verifying rental agreements, and coordinating undercover and overt police actions. These proactive methods allowed law enforcement to obtain clear evidence linking the individuals to the illegal activities, ensuring a robust legal case.

Authorities emphasized that operations such as STORM 7 are part of broader efforts to combat organized criminal activity in the region, specifically targeting crimes such as human trafficking, illegal prostitution, and exploitation. By identifying and dismantling networks that facilitate these crimes, the police aim to create safer communities and uphold the rule of law.

The Durrës Police Department also highlighted the importance of community cooperation in reporting suspicious activities. Citizens are encouraged to provide information that could assist in preventing illegal activities, which in turn strengthens public safety and security.

The STORM 7 operation marks a milestone in Durrës law enforcement history, demonstrating the effectiveness of collaborative approaches between investigative sections, operational units, and the prosecutorial authorities. Through diligent planning, intelligence gathering, and operational execution, the authorities successfully disrupted illegal prostitution activities while ensuring legal compliance at every stage.

The operation serves as a reminder that illegal prostitution is not only a violation of the law but also a complex social issue with broader implications, including exploitation and human trafficking. By proactively addressing these crimes, the Durrës Police contribute to a safer and more secure environment for all residents.

This operation also underscores the role of modern investigative techniques in law enforcement, including surveillance, data collection, and evidence-based interventions. Such measures not only enhance the effectiveness of police operations but also ensure that suspects are apprehended in a manner consistent with legal standards, protecting both victims and the accused during the investigative process.

As Durrës continues to experience urban growth and social changes, operations like STORM 7 remain crucial in maintaining public order and curbing criminal networks that exploit vulnerable populations. The success of this operation reflects a commitment to proactive policing, accountability, and the ongoing fight against organized crime in Albania.

The STORM 7 operation in Durrës demonstrates the efficiency of coordinated police action in uncovering illegal prostitution networks. With arrests, seizure of illicit gains, and the submission of evidence to judicial authorities, law enforcement authorities send a clear message that illegal activities will be identified, investigated, and prosecuted.
