On July 5, 2025, Genci Nimanbegu, Mayor of Ulqin, and Mirsad Azemoviq, Minister for Diaspora, formalized a landmark memorandum of cooperation to organize the “Diaspora Days” event in Ulqin, Montenegro. This significant initiative, set to become a cornerstone of cultural and communal engagement, is part of a broader strategy by the Ministry for Diaspora to foster stronger connections between Albanian communities abroad and their homeland. This year, the concept extends to five other municipalities across Montenegro, amplifying its impact and reach.

The “Diaspora Days” event is designed to celebrate and reinforce the cultural, social, and economic bonds between the Albanian diaspora and their roots in Montenegro. Minister Azemoviq underscored the importance of this initiative, stating that it aims to establish sustainable channels of communication and collaboration. “Our goal is to create enduring bridges that not only preserve our shared identity but also promote mutual growth and understanding between Albanian communities worldwide and those in their homeland,” he remarked during the signing ceremony.
Mayor Nimanbegu expressed deep appreciation for the Minister’s visit and the collaborative spirit behind the initiative.
