The city of Shkodra successfully hosted the 8th edition of the international tournament “Shkodra Summer Cup”, a key event for youth football that is becoming a well-established tradition in the regional sports calendar.
The tournament was organized through close collaboration between the Albanian Football Association, the Shkodra Regional Football Association, Shkodra Sport Event, the Municipality of Shkodra, and the Shkodra Football Referees' College.
This year’s edition brought together 46 selected teams from various countries including Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Bujanovac, Italy, Nigeria, and Ghana. The tournament featured age categories from U-9 to U-19 and unfolded over 8 days of competition. More than 1,000 participants—players, coaches, and technical staff—were involved, with matches held across six different stadiums and fields in Shkodra and its surrounding areas.
The event aimed not only to promote youth football but also to foster cooperation and social interaction among young people from different countries. A particularly important aspect was the presence of numerous international scouts and scouting agencies, who closely followed the matches and identified promising talents for the future.
The Albanian Football Association highly praised the organization of this tournament and extended its congratulations to all local and international contributors for their role in advancing youth football. Events like the Shkodra Summer Cup continue to create an inspiring environment for young talents dreaming of progressing toward elite football.
