The driver, a 24-year-old Albanian citizen, tested positive for cocaine. As a result, the detection dog Dembé was deployed to determine whether the substance was also being transported in the vehicle, according to the statement issued by FOCBS and cited by swissinfo.ch.

Dembé indicated a specific area inside the car as suspicious. A specialized vehicle inspection team was then called in. Upon closer examination, they uncovered five blocks of cocaine, each weighing approximately one kilogram. The drugs had been cleverly concealed under a lid beneath the passenger seat.

Both the suspect and the narcotics were handed over to the Cantonal Police of Geneva. The Public Prosecutor’s Office has since launched a criminal investigation.
