Agron Shehaj, leader of the "Mundësia" (Opportunity) Party, declared in an interview with Euronews Albania that his party's votes will "never" align with Edi Rama, regardless of the issue.
Shehaj asserted that a confrontation between the current government and the justice system is "inevitable," claiming the Prime Minister's objective is to "capture justice" to shield himself from alleged corruption scandals.
"I have said it and I repeat; SPAK has done something historical in this country, Edi Rama's right hand has been brought before justice, but this is only the beginning," Shehaj stated. "Time will tell that the clash between justice and this government is inevitable. What I have said is that what separates us from all others is this: our party's votes will never go against SPAK. Our votes will never join Edi Rama on any issue."
Shehaj emphasized that an independent justice system poses the biggest threat to Rama. "The greatest danger for Edi Rama is justice, I'm not talking about SPAK. If we have an independent justice system in Albania, it's Rama's biggest danger, which is why he called on the people to win the elections," he said.
He concluded by predicting Rama's focus for the next four years: "This will be Rama's battle in the next four years; there is one battle: to capture justice and save himself, because there is no one in Albania who doesn't know that just as Veliaj was at the head of every affair that happened in the municipality, Rama is at the head of every affair that has happened in Albania these 12 years."
