Italian Citizens Arrested for Counterfeiting Currency in Shkodër

 Two Italian citizens have been apprehended by the police in Shkodër for the forgery of valuable documents. Inside the vehicle they were traveling in, a 44-year-old and a 49-year-old were found in possession of two suspected counterfeit check packages, each valued at $2000 (totaling $1 million).

The undisclosed checks were seized as material evidence, along with the vehicle, €1700, banknotes, and two mobile phones.

Subsequently, the procedural materials were handed over to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Shkodër for further action.


The Border Police, in cooperation with the Shkodër District Police Directorate, uncovered a case of document forgery.

For this case, the Italian citizens R. M., 44 years old, and C. S., 49 years old, were arrested.

As a result of the maximum engagement of the Border Police services at the Hani i Hotit Border Crossing Point, to prevent and combat cross-border crimes, alongside their efforts to provide quality and ethical services to citizens at entry/exit points, a case of document forgery was uncovered.

Upon exiting the country, the vehicle carrying the individuals R. M. and C. S. was subjected to secondary inspection, where two packages of suspected counterfeit checks, each valued at $2000 (totaling $1 million), were discovered in the luggage compartment.

The undisclosed checks were seized as material evidence, along with the vehicle, €1700, banknotes, and two mobile phones.

The procedural materials were handed over to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Shkodër for further action.
