Four and a half months after the extraordinary elections, Montenegro's parliament has elected a new government led by Milojko Spajiq, the leader of the "Europe Now" Movement. With 46 votes in favor and 19 against, the government secured its position.

The formation of Montenegro's new government follows an agreement by the pro-Serbian and pro-Russian alliance "For a Better Montenegro," led by Andrija Mandiq, to support Spajiq's election in exchange for Mandiq being appointed as Parliament's chairman.

Prime Minister Milojko Spajiq pledged to fully implement the "Europe Now 2" reform package, which includes raising the average wage to 1,000 euros. He emphasized the government's commitment to economic reforms, improving living standards, upholding the rule of law, and fast-tracking Montenegro's accession to the European Union.

What's noteworthy about this new government is the inclusion of Albanian representation. Besides the "Europe Now" party, the government comprises the Democratic Party of Socialists of Montenegro, the People's Socialist Party, and a coalition of Albanian parties.

Nik Gjeloshaj, an Albanian member of the government, will serve as Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policies and Minister of Economic Development. Fatmir Deka has been appointed Minister for Human Rights and Minorities, while Marash Dukaj will lead the Ministry of Public Administration.

This diverse composition reflects Montenegro's commitment to inclusivity and cooperative governance among its various ethnic and political groups. Prime Minister Spajiq's vision for a united Montenegro has the potential to bring about positive change and harmony within the country.
