The delegation of the Holy See, led by Cardinal Giuseppe Betori of Florence, accompanied by the Albanian Cardinal Ernest Troshan Simoni, visited the Museum of Witness and Memory, or the former prison of Shkodra, where Cardinal Troshani himself spent some time in detention.

Cardinal Betori familiarized himself closely with the prison and its history, the investigation methods, and the sufferings that some of the martyrs of the Catholic Church in Albania endured in the cells of this prison, which has now been transformed into a museum.

"I must say that in Albania, all of this is a scientific compilation of the entire past that has survived in the hearts of the people.

We must honor with reverence and humility all the martyrs, those who have died and those who are alive, like our beloved Cardinal Ernest Troshani because they have also given us a reason to remain faithful to Christ and His Gospel," said Cardinal Giuseppe Betori, the Archbishop of Florence.

Meanwhile, Albanian Cardinal Ernest Troshani expressed that suffering should be anchored in faith in God.

During this visit, Cardinal Giuseppe Betori was received by the Archbishop of Shkodra, Monsignor Angelo Massafra, and was also accompanied by the Apostolic Nuncio in Tirana, Monsignor Luigi Bonazzi.
