Extradited from Albania to Turkey Ozer, defrauded 391,000 citizens with damage over 2 billion dollars

Interpol police accompanying Ozer to the airplane toward Turkey at Rinas Airport

 The wanted Faruk Ozer, who is accused of defrauding 391,000 citizens through cryptocurrencies and causing a $2 billion loss, is extradited to Turkey.


This individual was apprehended on August 30th, 2022 in Himara as a result of the police operation codenamed "Brain," which was carried out by the Local Police Directorate in Elbasan in collaboration with FAST Albania, DVP Vlore, and Interpol Tirana.


The 29-year-old Turkish man had been declared internationally wanted after the Istanbul High Court issued an arrest warrant against him in 2021 for the criminal offenses of "Creating a criminal organization" and "Serious fraud."


"This morning, Interpol Tirana specialists, those of the RENEA Elite Force, and the General Directorate of Prisons services accompanied F.O., 29 years old, to Rinas and handed him over to the Ankara Interpol counterparts for extradition to Turkey.

The individual F.O. was internationally wanted as he is accused of defrauding approximately 391,000 members of the cryptocurrency exchange platform and obtaining around $2 billion. The Istanbul High Court issued an arrest warrant against him in 2021 for the criminal offenses of "Creating a criminal organization" and "Serious fraud," according to the State Police report.
