The blue shark has been found in the shallows on a beach in the Ionian Islands.

This is the "Prionace Glauca" species (or the Blue Shark), which was found almost on shore.

According to specialists, the presence of the Glaucous shark should not cause panic.

However, approaching any wild animal can cause aggressive or unfamiliar behavior due to its fear.

"So we keep our distance and only if the person seems unable to return to the sea, then we try to get him back by avoiding the head and neck and trying not to make any sudden movements that could harm the animal. We do not touch it with our hands, we do not pull it hard from the tail and we do not drag it in the sand ", specialists say.

In fact, it is noted that relevant species observations have been recorded throughout the Mediterranean. The Glaucous or Blue Shark is an endangered species, but it is not protected.
