Construction of Vlora Airport begun; decision published in the Official Gazette

Vlora Airport / The contract is published in the Official Gazette, paves the way for the start of works
 The contract for the construction of Vlora International Airport by the merger of the companies registered in Switzerland, Mabco Construction, composed of Mabetex Group, which holds 50% of the shares, YDA Group with 48% and A Group sh.p.k. with 2% has been published in the Official Gazette, a process that paves the way for the start of works.

The union of economic operators will invest a value of 104 million euros for the construction of this airport.

In the first phase in the 2-year period, will be build the airport building and runways, valued at over 103 million and 500 thousand dollars.

While in the second phase, in the first 4 years, the supplementary infrastructure of business and tourism will be developed, reaching the value of investments of hundreds of millions of euros.

The established technical criteria meet those of category 4E, which is one of the highest categories of international airports starting from the runway which should be 3.2 km, and up to the terminal surfaces and all other facilities that this airport should offer.

The Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku has previously stated that the airport in the future will be the home of "Air Albania".

Vlora International Airport is in our civil aviation strategy one of the largest works that are designed to accommodate all flights anywhere in the world and those across the ocean, which to date have not been offered by our country due to unsuitable runway at Rinas airport.
