Kosovo has asked Albania to temporarily remove the tariff on "Rruga e Kombit" in order to ease barriers for tourists who choose to spend their Summer holidays on the Albanian coast.

This request was made by the Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, during the meeting he had with the Minister of Tourism and Environment of Albania, Blendi Klosi. He added that the barriers placed on the beam of "Rruga e Kombit" cause unpleasant delays to tourists.

"We also discussed the steps that are expected to be taken by our ministries so that the road from Kosovo to their destination in Albania and vice versa is as much easier as possible with as few controls or barriers. Including our request to find a solution, at least temporary, to eliminate the obligation to pay for the tunnel in Kalimash because this is then causing delays for our tourists, who go to Albania, and this especially increases when we have to do with short-term vacations during the weekend and out of season", said Bislimi, who added that the main conversation with Minister Klosi was the promotion of tourism and the deepening of cooperation between the two countries.

The Minister of Tourism and Environment in Albania, Blendi Klosi, said that tourism is an important contributor to the economy and budget of both countries while pledging that they will do everything to make the joint tourism offer Kosovo-Albania a reality.

"For both our governments, I believe it is a joint decision that tourism is not only a pleasure, tourism is a very important industry of both our countries, but it is also an important contributor to the economy and budgets of our countries. Therefore, we will do everything possible for the joint tourist offer Albania-Kosovo to be a reality ", said among other things Klosi.
