A 32-year-old man killed in Durrës with 3 names was a drug trafficker

 A 32-year-old man from Durrës lost his life tonight after being wounded by a gun during a conflict in the coastal city. The young man was initially taken to the Durrës Regional Hospital but failed to survive the injuries received.

Reliable sources from the investigative group inform Euronews Albania that the 32-year-old is suspected to have been killed about issues relating to drug deals.

The same source said that the victim had previously been registered for drug trafficking in the Netherlands and Belgium. Several persons who were at the scene were escorted to the Police premises.

Euronews Albania also learned that the victim had changed his name three times. In addition to the first name, which everyone knew as Edmir Begu, the 32-year-old had changed it two more times, respectively in Ilir and recently in Jetmir.

Several checkpoints have been set up by the Police and the area is being combed, the investigative group is at the scene and is working to identify and apprehend the perpetrator.
