According to press reports, official Athens has installed two new portable devices that emit powerful sound waves, in the border area of the river Evros (Marica) to be used against the influx of immigrants from Turkey

Two long-range acoustic devices, otherwise known as LRADs, produce sound bursts and have the power to make people deaf.

Used both in civilian areas during protests or in the military around the world, LRAD systems, when used on humans, can cause disorientation, deafness, excruciating pain, and health problems with unknown consequences. Their use is banned in many countries around the world.

As part of Greece's decisions to strengthen border units, four unmanned aerial drones, 15 thermal cameras, five boats and ten armored patrol vehicles have also been included in the border surveillance system.

On the other hand, it is reported that the construction of the new wire wall on the Turkish-Greek border, which was announced to be built in the Marica River region against illegal immigration, has started in the Feres region.
