US President Donald Trump has sent a letter to Prime Minister Edi Rama thanking him for his leadership in the Balkans and Europe.
In the letter, Trump states that "your open support for secure telecommunications networks is setting a strong example and I hope that the United States and Albania can soon sign a 5G Security Memorandum of Understanding."
President Trump thanks Rama for "supporting the economic normalization between Serbia and Kosovo and for your strong support of the Abraham Accords, the most significant step towards peace in the Middle East."

On behalf of the United States of America. I want to thank you For Albania's leadership in the Balkans region and throughout Europe in exposing China's malign influence, human rights abuses, and predatory lending practices. Your outspoken support for secure telecommunications networks is setting a strong example. and I hope the United States and Albania can soon sign a Memorandum. Understanding on 5G security that paves the way for others in the Balkans to do the same.. I am also pleased by Albania's strong role in the Three Seas Initiative — a transparent, market-based, and fair alternative to China's 17+1 format, which I urge you to exit.
I want to thank you for supporting the economic normalization between Serhia.and Kosovo. and for your strong endorsement of the Abraham Accords, the most significant step towards peace in the Middle Last in a generation. I encourage you to join the United States and other European nations in moving your embassy to Jerusalem.
