Archival documents in Albania will be free of charge for History students

 The General Directorate of Archives in Albania signed today a cooperation agreement with the Faculty of History and Philology, which aims to facilitate students' studies in the field of Albanological Sciences, as an institutional and national interest.

The agreement was signed by the General Director of Archives Dr. Ardit Bido and by the Dean of the Faculty of History and Philology Prof. Dr. Sabri Laçi, in the continuation of the cooperation between the two parties in the field of scientific research and publications, through free access to archival funds and joint publications related to them. Also present were Deputy Dean Andi Pinari and Professor Valentina Duka, Head of the History Department.

In his speech, the General Director of Archives Dr. Ardit Bido said that this agreement enables all students at the bachelor and master level to receive free documents, a way to promote studies in the field of Albanology and History.

"To do a bachelor and master thesis, already through this agreement, with authorization from the department, designating the relevant leading lecturer, will be able that for a certain amount of money will be considered case by case for each topic, receive free documentation in the Central State Archive," said Dr. Bido.

For his part, Prof. Dr. Sabri Laçi thanking the General Director of Archives said that this agreement with the Central State Archive is on the right track as from previous collaborations with the state archive relations have been very good, considering it one of the most important partners of the Faculty of History and Philology.

"The Department of History at the Faculty of History and Philology has been at the right height in terms of scientific research and the support of the archive, in this case, is to be noted. Of course, we have other partners and we are in the process of expanding national and international partners, in terms of expanding the scope of scientific research work, for students, for staff, for all researchers who want to contribute to the study and review of the history of Albania and beyond" said Prof. Dr. Sabri Laçi.

The main purpose and target of such collaborations are students, who are easily facilitated in their academic life, making it easier for them to access the information and historical fund available. With this, the General Directorate of Archives undertakes to support the Faculty of History and Philology with archival resources in the digital form up to 20 thousand images per year free of charge. In addition, these institutions are engaged in organizing conferences, symposia, roundtables, and scientific congresses, in areas of common interest as well as for the joint promotion of personalities and key moments of national history.
