Citizens of North Macedonia will go to the polls on July 15. Meanwhile, DUI has proposed that the time has come for the country to have an Albanian prime minister.

DUI MP Artan Grubi in an interview to Albanian media gave more details about the political situation in North Macedonia. He stressed that it is likely that for the first time North Macedonia will have an Albanian Prime Minister.

According to him, DUI came up with this proposal in this election to demolish the last wall. Grubi emphasizes that such a thing can be achieved as it was achieved with the Speaker of the Assembly in 2016 and earlier with ministers.

"We have come up with a bold promise to tear down the last wall," he said. For the first time, an Albanian party in Macedonia is running for prime minister. There has never been an Albanian candidate.

The prime minister has always been from SDSM or VMRO-DPMNE. We want to destroy this Macedonian binomial by imposing an Albanian prime minister. We did this in 2016 with the Speaker of the Assembly. An Albanian prime minister will is achieved same as happened with the speaker of parliament. We have reached out to ministers in the past. We hope that the vote of DUI and Albanians will be decisive and we will determine who will be the president of this country, probably an Albanian.

All political parties have submitted the lists, but we appeal to them to join us after the announcement of the results in joint efforts for the first Albanian Prime Minister. DUI does not want the prime minister for itself", he said.
