10 people arrested in Albania after the seize of € 40 million euros worth of drugs in Italy

 International drug trafficking worth 40 million euros. The operation of the Italian Anti-Mafia Department and the Albanian authorities with a joint investigative team has led to the arrest of 37 people in Italy and Albania, in the sequestration of 3 and a half tons of drugs and property worth of 4 million euros.

The operation led by Bari Antimafia in cooperation with the departments of Antimafia, the State Police and the Guardia di Finanza of the cities of Foggia, Lecce, Bologna, Roma, Naples and Catanzaro, as well as in cooperation with the Albanian Authorities, with CriminalPol, with the office Interforze liaison in Tirana and with the coordination of Eurojust, led the arrest of 37 people as responsible for an international drug trafficking.

The joint operation was carried out after the investigation of the operations codenamed "Kulmi" and "Shefi".

During the investigation, 3 and a half tons of marijuana, hashish, and cocaine were seized, worth of 7 million euros.

In Albania, it is learned that the operation was extended to Tirana and Vlora, where 10 people were arrested and another 27 have been arrested in Italy.
