In a pandemic situation, thousands of Muslim believers in Albania performed the rituals of Eid al-Fitr, which is one of the biggest holidays of the Islamic religion.

Numerous believers gathered in the Mosques of Tirana, but also in other cities to pray the Eid al-Fitr prayer.

In recent years, the Eid prayer has been performed in the squares, but this year due to measures against the spread of the new coronavirus, believers have prayed only in the mosque, respecting the measures imposed by the Ministry of Health against COVID-19.

After the Eid al-Fitr prayer, the faithful continued to celebrate in their homes.

As of May 18, it was decided to resume religious activities in Albania's mosques, which had been suspended for more than two months as part of measures against the spread of coronavirus.
