Albin Kurti's outgoing Government imposes new reciprocity measures on Serbia

The Government of Kosovo held an online meeting in the late hours of Saturday, where it decided to amend and supplement the decision on the gradual implementation of reciprocity as a principle in relations with Serbia.

According to the Government's announcement, amending the previous decision on trade relations with Serbia means banning documents on agricultural and industrial products that use the names of countries that contain other elements contrary to the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, the names of countries in The Republic of Kosovo, but without the name of the state, which do not refer to the Republic of Kosovo and contain any element that denies the independence and sovereignty of the Republic of Kosovo.

“The Food and Veterinary Agency is obliged to use the emblem and the name Republic of Kosovo in phytosanitary and veterinary certificates, while economic operators from Serbia must be provided with an entry permit for each vehicle transporting goods entering the Republic of Kosovo from the Liaison Office of the Republic of Kosovo in Serbia", it is said in the notification of the Government of Kosovo.

The decision, according to the announcement, remains in force for an indefinite period, while a commercial company established according to the rules of the authorities in Serbia cannot be recognized as a legal entity, but only in accordance with the Law on Trade Companies.
