Edi Rama in a public speech from his house (archive)
Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted through a Facebook status regarding the news that many Albanians have been fined by Greece for exceeding the 90-day deadline for staying there.

The Prime Minister writes that his office has been in contact with the Greek side...and in case their fine will not be canceled, it will be reimbursed 100% by the Albanian Government.

AN IMPORTANT NEWS

My office has been in constant contact with the Greek authorities, following the public news of the fine of some Albanian citizens, who have exceeded the 90-day deadline for staying in Greece in recent months. Greek authorities will review all fines imposed, meanwhile ensuring that in the event of a pandemic the imposition of fines will occur only in flagrant cases, where breach of deadlines has nothing to do with the situation created by the covid19.

I ENSURE ALL ALBANIAN CITIZENS, to whom the Greek authorities will not cancel the fine imposed, that will be reimbursed 100% from the GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF ALBANIA.
