 An Albanian lost his life during an accident that occurred at noon this Friday in Florence, Italy, an event which has caused some reactions from local officials.

The incident took place in the central area of ​​Scandicci, during the renovation of the facade of a building, where the 48-year-old Albanian had been working for several days, as a member of a construction company. He fell from a height of 18 meters and died instantly, while the arrival of the ambulance was in vain.

"It's terrible news. We are deeply touched as people and as a community, we are shocked and saddened by how we can still die at work. Today is a very sad day for Scandici ", wrote the mayor Sandro Fallani on Facebook, posting the photo from the scene.

While the head of the Federation of Workers of Florence, Marco Carletti says: “We already have two deaths at work in the construction industry of Florence, during the coronavirus emergency. Another family mourns a  worker. It is unacceptable. How many more accidents at work need to happen to clarify that more construction rules are needed?”.
