Albin Kurti say Richard Grenell is involved in the political crisis of Kosovo

Kosovo's acting prime minister, Albin Kurti, has said that the special envoy of the president of the United States of America for the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, Ambassador Richard Grenell, is directly involved in the current political crisis in Kosovo. Meanwhile, in the case of the formation of the new government, which is what the President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, is insisting on. Kurti said that people cannot stop the protests, predicting the possibility of destabilization.

In an online conference for international media, Kurti said the Kosovo Democratic League initiative for a no-confidence motion against the government, voted in parliament on March 25th, was coordinated with Ambassador Grenell. He said his government had collapsed just because Grenelli was in a hurry to "sign an agreement with Serbia".

Kurti said Grenell was not maintaining a neutral stance even now when it comes to forming a new government, Radio Free Europe writes.

Kurti said, Grenell had insisted on the tax cut from day one, via WhatsApp messages, but he had made it clear to him that he would establish reciprocity with Serbia as an election promise. Meanwhile, he said Grenell had increased pressure on the Democratic League of Kosovo, the partner of the Self-Determination Movement in the ruling coalition, which, as Kurti said, was under pressure. And the establishment of reciprocity with Serbia, Kurti said, was a long-standing agreement between the LDK and Vetëvendosje.

"This will be a new government without the winning party and against the winner of the election," said Kurti.

"I must also say that it is unfortunate that Ambassador Grenell has sided with corrupt politicians, who were replaced by voters in the last election," Kurti said.

The incumbent Prime Minister of Kosovo said that Ambassador Grenell is trying to push forward the agreement on the exchange of territories, emphasizing that such an agreement could not be called peaceful.

"Grenell may have been lured by Thaci, but he may also have been lured by gaining political points by resolving a centuries-old dispute," Kurti added.

"He needs a quick deal to show that he can resolve crises in the world unlike Clinton, Bush, and Obama, without the need for military intervention," Kurti said, recalling that there will be elections soon in the United States.
