Albania lost 3 billion euros by sending doctors to Germany, experts say

When a newly graduated Albanian doctor leaves Albania for Germany, he takes with him an investment value of about 100,000 euros from Albania, contributed by the Albanian family, state and society. According to experts, the same investment in Germany costs 390,000 Euros.

By hiring a doctor who graduated in Albania, the German state saves 390,000 euros in investments that can use elsewhere.

In other words, the 110 million euros that the European Union donated to Albania as aid for the consequences of the November 26 earthquake, Albania has prepaid only by transferring 280 doctors who have emigrated to EU countries.

Or, for about 3,000 doctors and 5,000 nurses that have left in recent years, Albania has contributed more than 3 billion euros to the EU health system.
