Albanian Aleko Petro, who killed his daughter, is sentenced to life imprisonment by a Thesprotian court in Greece. The heinous crime took place in January 2019 in Corfu. The 52 from Berat killed his daughter, Angelina Petro, and buried her in the backyard. He was also sentenced to 30 months in prison for illegal possession of a weapon and use of a weapon, as well as a fine of 1,000 euros. His lawyer, Vasileos Nulezas, said he would appeal the decision. Witnesses to the trial were Angelina's Afghan boyfriend and the woman who baptized her.

The girl's mother, who lives in Berat, could not go to court due to the ban on entering Greece because of the COVID-19 situation.

Lawyer Nuleza's defense line was based on Articles 34 and 36 of the Criminal Code, claiming that the accused did not intend to commit the crime in a calm state of mind, but due to anger after the quarrel with his doughter, had suffered mental shock.

Meanwhile, the Greek media emphasize that Aleko Petro was raped while he was in the cell by other prisoners waiting for the final verdict.

It seems to have become commonplace in Greek prisons, where female killers are raped by prisoners. The same happened to another Albanian, Aleksandër Luca, accused of killing a Greek student, and he was brutally raped in a cell.
