Kosovo's Deputy Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti says the tax on Serbian goods should be completely abolished today
 Avdullah Hoti
First Deputy Prime Minister in the Government of Kosovo, Avdullah Hoti, says the 100% for products from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina should be lifted.

According to Hoti, who comes from the Democratic League of Kosovo, "no political tactics should be made with our partnership with the US".

"Our focus should be on managing the situation created by Covid-19, not on political games leading to US DISTANCING from Kosovo, as started with the blocking of the MCC funds for Kosovo, signed from the Mustafa Government”, Hoti wrote on Facebook.

Kosovo's Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, said today that he has not yet convinced his coalition partner, the Democratic League of Kosovo (DLK), to gradually lift the tax and replace it with reciprocity.

Kurti's tax abolition plan, introduced at the end of February, for partial tax abolition, is being opposed by the DLK.

The United States has opposed Kurti's idea of taxation, while the White House envoy for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Ambassador Richard Grenell, has said Kosovo makes a "serious mistake" if it does not abolish unconditionally the tax.

The Kosovo government in November 2018 imposed a 100 percent tax on imports from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since then, political dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade has been suspended, as Serbia is refusing to return to the negotiating table without removing the taxes.
