The 31-year-old is back in Switzerland after leaving Colorado Rapids in America.
He has signed a contract keeping him in Aarau until June 30, 2023.
Gashi was part of Aarau also in the 2011-2012 season, where he had contributed with 23 goals and 19 assists in 44 games.
In Colorado he has scored 14 goals in 69 appearances.
He has 16 appearances for Albania.
After 18 matches played in the Challenge League, Aarau is ranked seventh out of 10 teams, with 22 points accumulated.
