David Philips: Albanians must create a mini-NATO to defend themselves from Russia and Serbia
David Philips
In discussing the role of Albanians in the Balkans, in his lecture at Universum College, the renowned American analyst and diplomat David Philips said that Serbia along with Russia uses the concept of Greater Albania to justify their expansionist agenda.

The approximation of the foreign policies of Kosovo and Albania, the cooperation and harmonization of economic policies, and the protection of the rights of all Albanians in the Balkans do not create Greater Albania but Normal Albania. Speaking about the need for Albanians to be protected from external dangers, Mr. Philps said that a culture similar to that of NATO should be created, where the threat of collapse of Albanian life in a country or region means endangering of their lives throughout the Balkans. That is why it is important to create a 'one for all, all for one' or a 'mini-NATO' Albanian policy, Mr. Phillips said.

Philips concluded the lecture with an exciting and encouraging speech for all students, telling them that the traits of the Albanians have survived many of the problems we have faced, and therefore expressed the conviction that Albanians have the human capacity to emerge victorious from the challenges they face.
