41,000 undeclared euros seized by Kakavia Border Police from 38 years old Albanian

Thorough control of vehicles and citizens continues, with a view to preventing and counteracting the lawlessness.

41,000 euros has been seized by Border Police.

The possessor, who did not declare the money at the border, has been detained. 

After careful controls to prevent cross-border crimes, the BCP Border Police Offices at the exit of the Republic of Albania selected for control at the second line a vehicle driven by citizen EB, 38 years old, resident in Kuçovë / Kucova who was traveling to Greece.

During the control carried out by the Border Police in cooperation with the customs services, is found a considerable amount of euro currency hidden inside the vehicle, which this  amount of money this citizen was trying to cross the border to Greece, without declaring the money to the customs services. After counting resulted in a total of 41,000 euros.

Kakavija Border Police has notified the economic and financial crime investigation specialists in the Gjirokastra DVP who, at the conclusion of their first investigative actions, have started criminal proceedings against the 38-year-old. The materials will be forwarded to the Prosecutor's Office for further action on the offense of "Non-Disclosure of Money and Values".
