Tom Hanks becomes Honorary Citizen of Greece
 
 Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos gave today the title of "Honorary Citizen" to the renowned American actor Tom Hanks, passionate about Greece, the Greek news agency ANA reported.

Tom Hanks is married to the actress born in today's Greece but of Albanian descent (Cham), singer, and producer Rita Wilson.

She is the producer of the popular film "Greek Marriage", a comedy that stars a family of Greek immigrants who live on the outskirts of Chicago and are very attached to their origins and customs.

The 63-year-old actor is one of Hollywood's highest-paid, Oscar-nominated twice as Best Actor in Philadelphia and Forrest Gump.

In 2016, Tom Hanks was made a Knight of the National Order of the Legion of Honor by French President François Hollande, and US President Barack Obama awarded him with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
