 Coca Cola will leave Sicily.

"In other words, Sibeg Coca Cola is ready to transfer all of its production to Albania, Tirana, to meet the two new Italian government taxes: sugar and plastic tax," the Italian newspaper Il Giornale writes.

The Sicilian company is in trouble and will be ready to land on the other side of the Adriatic.

Sibeg-Coca Cola represents a professional and productive heritage for the city of Catania in Sicily.

"Workers are now at risk of paying the two new government taxes at a high price. Already, on these Christmas days, with the city's top leaders, we began a discussion aimed at identifying any useful initiatives to avoid another avalanche effect on the already disastrous economy of the territory,” explains Nino Marino, secretary-general of UIL trade union Sicily, and Alessandro Salamone, member of the category organization's regional secretariat.

Union representatives have said that Sibeg Coca Cola provides 350 jobs in Catania, in addition to the other 995 related jobs.
