Italy's President Sergio Mattarella: Italians of Albanian origin and Albanians are two pages of a gold medal

 The current President of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, along with the Albanian President, Ilir Meta, are attending the celebration of the 550th anniversary of the death of our national hero, Gjergj Kastrioti Scanderbeg.

They were received by Calabria Region President Mario Oliverio and San Demetrio Corone Mayor Salvatore Lamirata.

At the ceremony, Matarella gave a speech by mentioning among other things the relationship of Albanians with Arberesh.

“Italians of Albanian origin and Albanians are two pages of a gold medal. Which describes the tremendous contribution over the last 500 years to the social, economic and legal development of Italy”, said Sergio Mattarella.
