Lulzim Basha over the negotiations refusal: The European Commission report does not represent the reality and the truth

Democratic Party leader Lulzim Basha came out today at a news conference expressing regret over the EU's refusal to open negotiations. Basha said also that the real reason for the refusal was the fancy report that did not represent the reality in Albania, that is, the European Commission's fictitious report on enlargement. "European Commission reports on enlargement are considered, by a large proportion of member states, fancy, which do not represent the reality," Basha said in his speech.

"I would like to start with my regret about today's development of the refusal of negotiations but it is not that we did not expect it. We have worked hard to persuade our allies in the Bundestag to transform theirs into a Yes. Let's say clearly that we hoped for the best. The reasons are quite clear. I invite anyone to return to the Bundestag's conditions, they were 5 and became 7 and already 9. The conditions are related to the arrest of persons involved in vote-buying. There are two conditions that indicate Albania's failure and the return back of Albania. These are the facts. However, there is an attempt to sell this as a clash between member states and not with Albania's problems. The country is not only being ruled but it is ruled far beyond the minimum standards governed by Europe. How does this relate to what happened in Brussels? Now is the time to explain to the Albanians exactly what the truth is. I arrived from Berlin at 1 pm with the most up-to-date information, it is true that not only at this meeting but since 3 years there has been a distrust of member states over the European Commission's enlargement report. European Commission reports on enlargement are considered by many of the member states to be fancy, which does not represent reality. The Netherlands also said this when stated in the case of Albania the problem of crime, corruption, and the equilibration of powers absolutely prevented them from making a decision to open negotiations, in stark contrast to the third report of the European Commission. This is what France said, not only about the crime and corruption but also about the problem that France sees on a daily basis. Who among us does not know that the same wave of immigration has returned as in the 1990s. These truths have not been properly reflected in the reality of Albania in the Commission's report, this prompted the German Bundestag to always undertake its own assessment, as they did for Serbia and Montenegro, the same persons, Gunter and Krischbau. Instead of fulfilling the terms of the Bundestag, we kept kissing and hugging with the Enlargement Commissioner, Federica Mogherini and saying, they say we've done our job, the enemy is envious,  let the fascists go in the hell. Europe does not go with propaganda but with the truth. The Bundestag set up the reality control mechanism in Albania. The Bundestag has proposed a mechanism that validates of how the conditions are going, whether they are being met or not, and recognizes the real situation in Albania as Mr Rama was forced to admit two weeks ago in parliament better than anyone else on the planet. The Bundestag has its own mechanisms to determine whether things are really right to open the negotiations," Basha said in his speech.
