Former Fier judge Roland Hysi sentenced to 3 years in prison following the sex scandal

 
 The Serious Crimes Court sentenced the former Fier Court judge Roland Hysi to 4 years and 6 months in prison, he has been found guilty for the criminal offense of "Passive Corruption of Judges, Prosecutors and Other Officials of the Judiciary".

Due to the accelerated trial, the former Fier judge will serve a three-year prison sentence. The Court also ruled that the former Judge should not hold public office for five years.

The arrest of a judge and a psychologist at the Fier Court of First Instance was made in January this year following a Serious Crimes Prosecution order. The arrests came after the publication of the investigative show "Stop" on TV Klan some footage where Hysi sought sexual favors and received a 500-euro bribe from a woman in exchange for a decision to give her the custody of her girl.
