Prime Minister Edi Rama announced today that, "after many prolonged negotiations but unsuccessful, with the consortium that expressed interest in the realization of the Vlora International Airport, we were directly involved in making the project not to waste any precious time".

"Thanks to a voluminous work in cooperation with an international team of experts led by the famous ARCHEA studio, we have an ambitious project of the highest technical and architectural standards," said Rama.

He announced that more details on the project will be given in Vlora on Monday at the presentation of the project at the "Three Races".

Vlora Airport is planned to be built in the area of ​​Akrnia, 20 kilometers from the city of Vlora, and is thought to be 10 minutes off the Vlora-Fier highway.

The construction of this airport is a significant investment, a new entrance and exit gate that competes with Rinas Airport and creates facilities for travelers in the south and also for the tourists.

This important work in the air infrastructure of the country will greatly increase the industrial interest in the whole area which will bring a new era for the tourism, but also for the investments that bring economic development.
