Qatar businesses interested in investing in Albania

 Qatar's Ambassador to Tirana, Ali bin Hamad Al-Marri, said today, "Qatar is exploring investment potentials and areas of common interest because Albania has a favorable geographical position in the Balkans and Europe."

In an interview in the TV show, 'Diplomaticus' by the journalist Erion Kaçorri, the ambassador talks about the relations between the two countries, economic reports, investment opportunities in Albania, the Qatar 2022 World Football Championship.

Ali bin Hamad Al-Marri stressed that "Albania has a favorable geographical position in the Balkans and Europe, which makes it an attractive country for foreign investment."

“Alongside the position, the country has great potentials in the sectors of energy, transport, agriculture and tourism, as well as natural resources in minerals, water and others. Therefore, the investment opportunities in Albania are numerous and interesting that can be optimally exploited and that can bring mutual benefit and strengthen the Albanian economy. I can say that the fields of infrastructure, transport, tourism, industry, and mining are promising and attractive sectors for investment,” he said.

According to him, "there are some private companies that have shown interest in operating in Albania".

"Our Embassy is making every effort to support initiatives aimed at increasing cooperation between companies and businesses and exploring joint investment opportunities in both countries. Also, I am sure that the realization of the reforms that the Republic of Albania is currently implementing, especially the reforms in the justice system, will have a very positive impact on the attraction of foreign investments and will contribute to the improvement of the business climate in the country ”. says the Ambassador of Qatar.

He expressed confidence that Albania and Albanians have a promising future. “The country has all the potential for development and prosperity. Albania's geographical position is strategic. Albania today is a NATO member state, a candidate country for EU membership, and in 2020 will lead the OSCE. Albanians are a vital and proud people of its heritage and history. They have all the abilities to fulfill their aspirations,” he said.
