Vlora ship, August 8, 1991 in Bari, Italy
August 8, 1991, will remain long in the memory of Albanians, as one of the most historic days and the most memorable drama that our people have experienced.

It was the day when about 21,000 Albanians aboard the Vlora ship headed toward Italy, one of the largest exodus in the history of the Albanians after that after the death of Skanderbeg about 500 years ago.
