Tirana approaches to Australia, Albanian embassy opened in Canberra
 Gent Cakaj
The Minister of Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj reports that the government of Albania has decided to open an embassy in the capital city of Australia, Canberra. He says that the importance of this decision lies in the political and diplomatic level.

"A fantastic news for Albania's diplomacy. Earlier, the diplomatic relations of the Republic of Albania with Australia and some of Asia and Pacific countries were covered by the Embassy in Beijing. The opening of the Embassy in Canberra will enable the intensification of diplomatic, political and economic relations between Albania and Australia," he writes in a post on Facebook Cakaj.

Cakaj says that this Embassy will have a very important function in providing consular services to Albanians (and not only) in Australia (and not only).

"According to preliminary expectations, the Embassy in Canada will offer approximately 4,000 to 5,000 consular practices within a calendar year. So, judging by the political, strategic, diplomatic and consular importance, the opening of the Albanian Embassy in Canberra has invaluable importance," Cakaj writes.

He reports that there will soon be similar actions in other areas, to make Albania more present around the world in the service of strategic interests and citizens.
