The OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger has responded to the Alliance for the Protection of the National Theater of Albania. He writes that his response to the public invitation has been removed out of the context.

In his response to the Alliance for the Protection of the Theater, the OSCE secretary says the issue is political, adding that the institution he represents has urged the political parties to restrain themselves and await the decision of the legal institutions over the debate about the demolition or not of the building of the National Theater of Albania.

“I note with concern that my response to a public invitation has been taken out of the context. My advice to all parties was, and is, to restraint themselves and allow the institutional procedures with the right time to make a decision on a sensitive and politicized issue. I am convinced that the institutions will be able to resolve this legal issue, in accordance with the rule of law and democratic principles. The OSCE and I remain committed to supporting the reform process,” he wrote.
