Albania's President Ilir Meta dismissal? Who are the MPs who voted against?
 Ilir Meta
The Albanian Parliament voted the resolution against the President of the Republic, Ilir Meta, as a step towards the majority's decision to dismiss the head of state. This clearly articulated decision by the majority came after the President's decree for the annulment of June 30 local elections.

100 MPs voted in favor of the resolution, 2 abstentions, 7 against and 1 un-voted, which means 30 MPs more than the Socialist Party parliamentary group.

While Oculus News has provided the names of the seven MPs who voted against: Lefter Maliqi, Fatjona Dhimitri, Elda Hoti, Klajda Qama, Artur Roshi, Vasil Sterjovski and Besnik Troplini.

Deputies who abstained: Ramazan Gjuzi, Enada Kapllani.

Without voting: Tahir Koçi. Meanwhile is interesting to mention here the fact that the Socialist MP Tom Doshi as well as the Democrat, Rudina Hajdari were not present at the Parliament.

The Parliament held today a motion for debate about the President for five consecutive hours, while the resolution was voted on "On the act of the President of the Republic for the abrogation of the decree no. 10928, dated 05.11.2018 "On the Election Date for Local Government Bodies". Meanwhile, the head of the Assembly announced that the next session will be on Monday, June 17 at 10:00.

In a resolution already adopted by the Parliament, the majority considers the decree to cancel the June 30th elections, an unprecedented act aimed at denying the realization of the constitutional right of Albanian citizens to elect their representatives of the local government.

"The Albanian Parliament calls on the President of the Republic to reflect by turning the President's institution into the limits of the powers recognized by the Constitution and not taking any other action in flagrant violation of the Constitution," reads the draft resolution.

"The Albanian Parliament considers that the Act of the President dated 10.06.2019 on the abrogation of Decree no. 10928, dated 05.11.2018 "On the appointment of the election date for the local government bodies" an absolutely invalid act, passed over the constitutional and legal powers of the institution of the President and as such it is considered null and as if not never existed.

The Albanian Parliament supports the stance of the Central Election Commission (CEC) for the continuation of the electoral process and encourages CEC to continue to safeguard the inviolability and to guarantee the continuation of the election process for local elections of June 30, 2019 as a result of the implementation of the President's Decree no. 10928, dated on 05.11.2018 "On appointing the Election Date for Local Government Bodies", recognizing the latter as the only lawful act issued by the President of the Republic of Albania in the framework of the 2019 local elections", is cited in the resolution.
