Turkey's Defense Minister Hulusi Akar has asked the institutions of northern Macedonia to take measures against, as he said, the "terrorist structures of the Feto organization" in this country, which according to him are damaging the "reports between the two countries, friendship and the fraternal bondage."

"We have the names of some of the main persons of the terrorist organization and I am deeply convinced that in the coming days, the institutions of North Macedonia will take concrete measures in this regard. We trust the institutions of northern Macedonia, "Turkish Defense Minister Akar said after meeting with Macedonian Defense Minister Radmila Sheqerinska.

Sheqerinska has admitted that with her Turkish counterpart, she has talked about many issues, including that raised by the Turkish minister, but without giving details.

She has said she does not believe that the problem raised by the Turkish official will affect the ratification of the protocol by Turkey for NATO membership in northern Macedonia.

"Turkey is a multi-year partner and our friend state ... we have talked about solving the problems and challenges facing the two countries, including this problem ... We have not talked about deadlines, issues of days or weeks but of important issues for the two countries. We have no dilemma that the Republic of Turkey will ratify the protocol for NATO membership in northern Macedonia," said Sheqerinska.

Turkey has previously asked the authorities of northern Macedonia to cease the schools, which according to Ankara are related to the movement of the religious cleric, Fethullah Gulen, whom official Ankara blames for the failed attempts for coup in 2016.

However, so far, Macedonian officials have rejected such a requests.
