Some sophisticated vehicles and equipment worth of € 200,000 have been donated today by the German Government to the Albanian State Police. General Director of State Police Ardi Veliu and German Ambassador in Tirana, Suzan Schutz signed the protocol of their donation, in the presence of the Interior Minister Sandër Lleshaj.
During the meeting held in the premises of the Special Central Task Force, once again was emphasized the good cooperation between the two countries in the field of police exchanges. These funds will be used mainly by the Criminal Police and Special Task Force, which is set up to combat criminal groups in Albania or abroad."I am delighted to have the opportunity to attend the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, with whom I meet in the time span of a few weeks, for the second time at the State Police premises. Today, we are at the Special Task Force where we have just signed a protocol for receiving significant assistance, which is addressed to the "Force of Law" Task Force, so it addresses the fight against organized crime. While a few weeks ago, we had the opportunity to welcome another important aid package addressing the border.
On this occasion, I thank the Ambassador, I thank the German Police and the German Government for their continued support, a support that addresses the strengthening of the parameters of the fight against organized crime, which is an important prerequisite for accelerating Albania's progress towards opening negotiations with the EU," said Minister Lleshaj.
On the other hand, the German Ambassador Suzanne Schutz said that this gift symbolizes symbolically the best co-operation between the two states.
"Allow me to express my pleasure, to emphasize what Mr. Minister said. Today we had the opportunity to provide equipment assistance with a total value of 200 thousand Euros, which once again demonstrates symbolically the good cooperation between our two countries, which will be further consolidated in the future." said Schutz.
