Since two days the city of Shkodra is at the carnival celebration. School students performed at the square in front of the municipality, creating a festive atmosphere.
The most interesting part of the celebration is the interpretation of witches on the square in front of the Municipality of Shkodra, through which the orators conveyed gloomy messages to the evil and bedeviled the leaders of the Government.We recall that the Shkodra municipality is governed by Voltana Ademi, a member of the actual opposition -Democratic Party.
During the celebrations, the scarecrow, a symbol of negative phenomena, was placed in the Mother Teresa Square, where is burned. The carnival celebration is not just about harmony, but removes and breaks the routine of monotony that characterizes the everyday life of people.
The tradition of carnival in Shkodra is believed to be inherited from Roman Catholicism.
The Carnival 2019 marks the 20th anniversary of the celebrations in democracy and 158 years of tradition in Shkodra.
