Local elections in Tuzi for the first time, united Albanians require the municipality in Montenegro

For the first time in Tuzi is being voted today for the Mayor. This is a historic day for the Albanians living in Montenegro. There are many calls for Albanians to vote this day, from Tirana, Pristina, Skopje and Albanian Diaspora.

Nika Gjeloshaj is the joint candidate of the three-party coalition in Montenegro: Albanian Alternative, Albanian Democratic League and Albanian Democratic Union.

The Coalition "Albanian Forum" during the campaign competed with the slogan "The Highland Unites Us". If wins, Gjeloshaj will lead the second largest Albanian municipality in Montenegro after that of Ulcinj.

Politicians in Tuzi say that many Albanians from the diaspora have returned to their homeland to vote, so that Albanians are the masters in their municipality.

11,800 voters has the right to vote and are expressing their will in 30 voting centers. These are the first elections after the entry into force of the law that enabled the creation of the Commune of Tuzi last year, dividing it from the Montenegro capital, Podgorica.
