The Socialist Party excludes 11 leaders following Rama's criticism of local heads

At 8:30 am on Tuesday, Edi Rama convened the Socialist Party (SP) Presidency at the headquarters of this political force, where due to works Socialists had long been missing.

At the entrance was Erion Veliaj, the head of the Tirana Municipality, who seemed to have something to explain about the works.

For 1 hour and 30 minutes, Socialist leader Rama expressed dissatisfaction with the local SP leaders, not just those of the party branches, but also the people who manage the local government. In conclusion, it was the spokeswoman for the Socialist Presidency who announced the drastic decision to dismiss the heads of the 11 branches.

"At today's meeting, 11 SP leaders are dismissed. There were unjustified delays in party reorganization, in membership campaigns and local branches, "Spiropali said.

Rama has been complained of the negligence of the socialists who manage the local government, demanding the political leaders of each district to analyze the activity of local directors.

"A disconnection from some territories is noticed. Political leaders have been asked to increase their presence in the territories and the circles they cover, especially in the opposition-run municipalities, where there is visible the degradation of the relationship of local government with the citizens," Spiropali added.

Shortly after Spiropal's statement, the Socialists began contacting the journalists by explaining that it was a misunderstanding and that the leadership had not decided the dismissal, but the proposal for their dismissal after a wider reflection.
